before & after school programs / PD DAY CAMPS

The FRC’s vision is to be a support for all families in Portage la Prairie and the surrounding area. When collaboration with community partners indicated that there is a strong need for after-school care in our area we worked to determine the need and have determined that the best way to meet that need is with this pilot afterschool program.

Our Afterschool Recreation programs have adopted a curriculum which focuses on how to be a “Global Citizen” based on the following guidelines:

•We are ALL IMPORTANT

While in our care, children benefit from a program that focuses on these individual aspects through the lens of being part of a larger healthy community and what that looks like. 

We are committed to creating and sustaining an environment that celebrates diversity and appreciates the dignity and worth of all members of the community. We are committed to creating an environment free from discrimination, harassment, and barriers to participation. By respecting the individuality and diversity of all children, our programs offer a support system that is sensitive to the needs of our families and the developmental capabilities of the children in our care. 

Before School: 7:30 - 8:45 (@ EAMS ONLY)

After School: 3:15 - 5:30 (EAMS & YQS)

After School Only: $8/day

Before School Only: $6/day

Both before & after school: $10/day

PD Day Camps are held in the EAM space from 8am-5:30pm at a cost of $20/day per child (meals & snacks not included). If you are interested in securing your spot, please let us know at time of registering or you will be able to register the month prior.

Future PD Days are: October 25, November 8 & 22, December 6, January 17, February 28, March 14 and April 11. You can register and pay for all upcoming PD Days if you wish. 

Children can be registered by completing the registration form, found at the link below. Once the form is received, our admin staff will email you to proceed.
